No wonder she had so much money in her account, Stacy thought. Her masters
hadn't been too sure about the monetary aspects - her home planet's
economy didn't use money at all - and they had wanted to make quite sure
that she wouldn't run short.
There was only one way to stop the invasion, Stacy realised. She would have to go back to the mother ship. That was where everything was controlled from. She could try persuading the commander to call the invasion off, though she didn't rate her chances very highly. If that failed, what could she do? If she simply refused to co-operate, she would achieve nothing beyond getting herself court-martialled. There were plenty of other agents, and losing one would make little difference. Was she prepared to go as far as sabotaging the ship? She wasn't sure. One thing at a time. First she had to return to the ship. Of course, the whole crew would wonder why she was returning prematurely. Going into the restroom for privacy, she found the secret control hidden within her shoulder bag and activated it.
