Stacy had gone to Callahan's place a few times. Or so her wildly spinning mind tells her. It had always been ... weird. But weird in a good way. Faking his death and not actually being noticed is something Mile could do. That man was full of amazement from here to Thursday.
But the important thing is, faking his death and not being noticed is something he would NOT do. Mile was just too damn nice for that.

  1. Clutched in Mile's hand is a purple flower, something Stacy had told Mile she likes.
  2. "Duck!" Mile hisses. Bullets zing by. Stacy's left ear is torn in two.
  3. Perhaps those stories Mile told on 'Fiction Friday' were true and the Russians WERE after him.
  4. Stacy feels overwhelmed and realizes she has been drugged.
  5. Stacy's mother shows up and lifts Mile with one arm.
  6. Several people notice the duo.
  7. Stacy remembers a mentally disabled patron of the bar (Joe ordered sodas) had once drawn this very scene.
