Fred Waits it Out

He is soon moved from the hospital bed into a large white-walled prison inhabited by a strange mixture of humans and other creatures he has never seen before.

And pixies

Fred has seen a pixie before and there is at least one imprisoned in this place.

As he is placed in his cell Fred overhears the guards who are transporting him comment that it is only a matter of time before he (Fred) tries to escape.

Sensing an opportunity to outwit the guards, Fred decides to continue to wait for his chance.

And wait.

And wait.

In fact (and of course this had nothing to do with the fact that the prison is modern, with exceptional facilities, good food and comfortable and spacious cells), Fred decides that to catch the guards completely off guard he will need to delay his escape attempt by four years.

After four years, Fred finally decides to make a break for it.

1. Fred succeeds in escaping
2. Fred is caught - turns out the guards had noticed that he'd circled the date on his calendar and written "ESCAPE" next to it in big red letters
3. Fred suddenly realises he was released six months ago
4. the day before his escape, Fred is finally taken for interrogation
