Only two of the red clad weirdos end up able to stick around. A tall man with no shoulders and a woman the same height as Astra. She had the sharpened eyes of a foreigner from across the ocean.
Somehow they came up with a set of clothes for Astra. They were simple leggings and a shirt, both pitch black. The boots were a dark grey. The suit even came with a two foot long sword that could detect water.
As for rescuing her friends, they ...

  2. were able to do nothing.
  3. tried but failed to produce a boat.
  4. were utterly frightened of helping in that regard.
