The Never Ending Quest - Episode 20639

Not only have the Champions been denied their best chance of rescuing Rebecca, but causality appears to have started to break down much sooner than they had hoped.

Joan

Cuthbert is not going to be happy about this in the least, I sense, as I and the others come riding into the clearing. He had been so enthusiastic as he had pitched in on this plan on this rescue attempt. He had been the one who had seen the best rout in our mad rush to get ahead of the hunting group. We had noted our own (we have similar warrior training as his....as it turns out) but his edged out in the end.

Oh, we had already come up with several angles on how to calm her after we got her horse (and her since she was still magically "glued" to her horse so she wouldn't fall off during her saddle's morphing) well away from those who'd want her back. Oh, and some kind of explanation would have been needed, of course. I and my sister had both agreed that if the situation was reversed, we would be rather nervous about such a turn of events. Especially if the very clothing (from a skirt to riding trousers) and saddle (side saddle to a western style) had shifted!

"What happened?" he asked, looking behind us as if somehow Rebecca is somewhere behind us instead of being "boxed" in by us on each side.

"Love," Joan 2 sighs, looking a bit annoyed (to understate it) at the turn of events, "You are not going to believe this but....."

Well, he takes it well enough....but I can tell he's as frustrated as the rest of us!

Jarlath says (and my sister's husband agrees) that it appears that causality might be breaking down sooner than expected. We had hoped that such breakdowns would not have robbed us of Rebecca like this. Oh, some kind of odd events would have happened, but this.....

Sigh, it looks like things will be a race now! A race where we shall keep having to rescue Rebecca again and again, over and over again....does not have much of an appeal to me, though.

Well, if nothing else it'll give me something to think about (like how to overcome this problem) instead of moping about....Brad.

Wish I had listened to my sisters and brothers about him before things went to....

Sigh, but passion can blind even the wisest of us. Would like to think that I have learned something from the...er...event that changed my life back in my world's Southern Cavern.....but then again I fear that the search for wisdom can be a never ending quest.

Shall have much to talk about with the others while Synizn and Andrea try a few means of detection for the spells that the demifoxes cast. Being that they have a particular draconian style signature shall make finding it in the background, distinguishing it from other energy signatures found in nature that can fool a mage if they are not careful. There is enough mana on this world for such things, even if we see no signs of magic users. We've seen that over in the Doctors' universes so such here might not be anything, but....

I just hope that Cuthbert's vague fears about magic being used here in great quantities prove unfounded.....

Meanwhile, as the source of the premature causality disruption gets forcedly ejected back into Addventure Game 3 and a free-willed Rule mutters some rather vile things about a nameless, full powered Author who had jumped the gun in a desire to play with a new "toy" (a whole world of new "toys" to dink around with as they would have with a person named "Scott Chen"). If the Challenge fails then, much to a lot of people's regret (too say the least), then that barely literate (bimbo- izing Author) and many other Authors would have their new toy.

Now Celestrials did not think so lowly of all Authors, but there are enough to make the Rules and Agents (as well as the Angels) to not be happy about this situation.

But, oh what the Champions will have to still face (Author or no Author)....

So, while the demifox cast their spells, Princess Illura is now staring at her cousin who just blinked into existence (who is squirming on her saddle for some reason).

That and a dazed husband who'd been on a hunt finds a note written in Rebecca's handwriting, saying that she's going to leave him. That and a few other things rather derogatory about him. That Author sure knew the guy well enough to be able to get a fellow angry...

  1. That and.....another group...
