You're amazed at this man's arrogance. You've just saved him -- and you
risked your life trying to save him after you found out about the
ambush --
and still he won't listen to you.
"I saved your life," you protest. "Yes, and I'm glad you did," Aaron says, patting you on the head. "And that almost makes up for getting me locked up in the first place. But now I have to leave. I can't let my father's army get too powerful before I get reinforcements." "But..." you begin to say. "Sorry," he says, and begins to leave. Alyssa, who has been silent all this time, taking in the prince's presence with a strange, half-awed, half-grinning expression, shouts, "Wait!" He turns to her. "Yes?" he says impatiently. "You can't do this, Highness," she says quietly. "It's a trap!" He turns to you. You nodto confirm this. "What do you mean?" he asks. You search for the letter, but then you realize that you must have lost it with your sword and armor. You sigh and say, "Remember that letter from your sister's body?" He nods. "That wasn't from you," you continue. "That was a letter from Prince Samuel of Daria to your father." His face darkens. "Samuel's involved." He pauses, then asks, "What did the letter say?" "It said that he had sent troops to guard the pass," you explain, "and anyone who tried to enter Daria would be slaughtered." He closes his eyes and sighs. "This is serious." You're about to ask him why when he continues, "Samuel always hated Eric and the New Amazons. He always wanted the throne. If he has the power to send troops to defend the pass, then there must have been some major upheaval in the kingdom. Unfortunately, Samuel was never very popular in Daria." He looks at you grimly. "There will be a civil war." The three of you stand in silence. Then Aaron says, "Let's go. We have to go to the capitol of Daria to see if we can restore Eric to the throne." "But what about Greger?" you protest.
