"Liar!" yelled Fred. "Everyone knows that aliens don't exist," he said. Shalf growled loudly.
"You're mine now!" Shalf roared.
"Belboz, be careful!" Fred yelled. He then ran towards Shalf.
Shalf swiped a massive claw at him, cutting him across the cheek.
Fred never flinched. He shot a fireball at one of Shalf's legs.
Shalf roared and fell on his side.
Fred quickly went to Shalf and held his sword at the monster's throat. "Tell me why you lied," he threatened.
"Never," Shalf growled, and a trickle of golden blood ran down his throat as Fred pressed his sword into the beast's throat.
"Alright!" Shalf yelped. "I am Enogib. I lost my arm to King Arthur when he found me asleep in my cave. He managed to sneak up on me, but instead of my head, it was my arm he chopped off. I woke, and managed to trick him before he could kill me. I told him the story I told you, and then ate him when he slept. I came across an old wizard named Belboz, who gave me my metal arm, and all for a bit of gold." He shook his head at the memory, but stopped when the sword bit into his neck. "That old fool," he muttered.
Fred was shocked. But he knew what he had to do. "You won't be able to trick anyone else now," he said.
"No! Wait! Please! I've changed. Let me live, and I'll help you! That old Belboz is evil. He's stealing your village's children and burning your fields, and blaming me. Let me live, and I shall protect you from him." Shalf said in a rush.
