Well, at least the quest wasn't to kill the dragon, Fred thought, and so
it seemed that his dream had not been a premonition of terrible events to
come. As a brave and loyal knight of the realm, not to mention the son of
a nobleman, he surely had no choice but to accept the quest he had been
offered. "I'll do it, Sire," he said, trying to keep his voice from
cracking.
"Good man," the King said. "A perceptive chap like you will no doubt have noticed that your quest is in two parts. First you have to find and bring back this Rune-Stone of Medomia. Then, once Cetal has put the Stone in place on the handle of the magical sword that he is making, you will take the said sword and use it to kill Sleipom. Any questions?" Fred considered. That all seemed comparatively straightforward. No - wait! There was something that he needed to know, he realised. "How do I find this Rune-Stone thing, then?" he asked. "I don't know, but I'm sure that Cetal will be able to tell you. He knows everything." So Fred went to see the great wizard Cetal.
