Episode 20212: Attacking the Clone

As is the norm with magic scrolls, this one disappeared now that it’s power had been used up. A ball of bluish light appeared before Fred, and swirled rapidly. Soon it begin to take a recognizable, humanoid form. A bit too recognizable, perhaps…Fred had summoned an exact clone of himself!

”What just happened?” the two Freds shrieked in unison.

”Oh, I’m sorry. I had my back turned. Let’s see if you’ve correctly summoned a…OH MY! What have you done?”

”Apparently, this scroll you gave me has summoned up a clone!” the Freds said.

”Right,” said Belboz. “We can’t have TWO Freds running around. Cosmic order of the universe and such. Luckily, the solution to this is simple.”

”That’s a relief!” The Freds smiled.

”I simply need to slay the clone! Now, which of you is it?”

The Freds were terrified. Each thought they were the original, and pointed at the other. “He is!”

”Oh dear, oh dear. What an unfortunate turn of events. I suppose I’ll have to slay you both.” He began chanting.

Both of the Freds, being duplicates, decided to run like hell down the corridor, which branched to the left and to the right. However, unbeknownst to anybody at this time (except you, gentle reader) there was one slight difference between them. Whereas the original Fred was right- handed [Episode 4], the clone was actually left-handed. So, at the fork, each went a different direction…Fred to the right, his clone to the left.

Belboz finished his incantation, which transformed his staff into a mighty killing machine. It glowed red with evil. He opened his eyes, and found that the Freds had fled! He ran down the corridor, and when he reached the branch he decided to go…
