The Never Ending Quest - Episode 19832

Fred entered the study, following the enigmatic Master Wong. Mirya and
Velus went too, and Io rounded out the group, shutting the study door
behind them. Fred looked around. Here was a large room lined with
bookshelves, holding many tomes of swarthy girth and dubious pedigree. A
long table was in the center, and a large map covered one wall. The map
shewed Fred's world, but many of the names and borders were different.
Fred also noticed that many areas of the map were scrawled with black -
for some as yet unknown reason. "So old man will you finally tell me why you brought me here?" Fred asked as Mirya peered out nervously from behind his shoulder. Velus was obliviously be-bopping to his CD walkman. "Have patience, lad." Master Wong smiled toothily. "Please, take seats. What I have to say will not take long, but may be of vital importance." As the group sat down, Wong began. "Fred, are you at all familiar with the practices of black magic?" "Can't say I am." Fred said. "Well, you do know of the practice of sacrificing living things to increase your own magic power?" "Unfortunately I have heard of such." Fred said, furrowing his brow. "And have you heard..." Master Wong said, licking his lips "that when it comes to certain black magic spells and rituals, the more that creature has suffered and been tortured, the more power it gives up when sacrificed?" "No, I have not." "Look at this map." Wong said, pointing to the map on the wall. "This is a magioscopic representation of our world's surface. Do you see the black areas all around the major populated centers?" "Yes. Are you saying..." "I am. The intensity of black magic power in these places is incredible. And all because of racetracks, experimental labs, "kosher" slaughterhouses, hog-rendering plants, cosmetics testing centers - places where animals are being gathered in greater numbers, tortured and murdered more savagely than ever before." "That's horrendous!" Mirya cried out. "What kind of monster would do such a thing?!" "We do not know, yet." Master Wong said gravely. "But one thing is certain - this much black magic power cannot be being gathered for doing much good! The mission of CATAR - the Cruelty Against The Animals Resistance - is to use our martial-arts powers to rescue these defenseless animals, find the not-so-defenseless ones behind these atrocities and defeat them before they can destroy our planet! And so I ask you again Fred - will you join us in our struggle? Or will you turn your back on these courageous warriors risking their lives to rescue everyone?" After a moment's thought Fred said:
