Well, something good came of it....

Not only did Fred refuse, he went onto insult this . . .clan and the idiot DM who dared twist the Game into . . . this mockery.

(Note: am not insulting Ryu with this episode. Just writing it as Fred having been NOT at all happy with the latest twist in the VR game and left in a snit before things could work out to show it would have worked. He's something of a purist, shall we say. Or maybe a snob, but that's not here nor there. He's not a total jerk, just some things about him are . . .still objectionable. Okay, done.

"You guys suck," he sighs, reaching up to take off his VR glasses (not caring for the outraged looks his fellow VR roleplayers were giving him).

He pauses and then glances over at the woman who'd played his girlfriend throughout this mess.

"You however did a wonderful job," he compliments her. "Wish we'd done more in a better setting. But I just cannot go ON with this farce. I'm sorry, but I can't."

VR glasses lifted, the computer link is broken. Fred sighs as he looks around the barracks. Only moments later, however, a phonecall reaches him and . . .
