The Never Ending Quest - Episode 19817

Spock

Then I have an idea.

Upon quietly sharing it with my new friends, the one "demifox" who calls himself has an especially odd look on his face. The Captain, Dr. McCoy, and a few others only appear to have overheard part of it....and the looks on their faces tells me that I shall have much to explain.....

"Spock?" Jim manages, clearly not having actually believed some of what I suggested. "What?....

A glance over at Uhura with a curious quirk of his sharp ear he opens his mouth as if to say something, then sighs and goes over to her and asks her for her anti-possession medallion. He says that the entity that had been controlling her child was still back in Sickbay, permanently lobotomized. It no longer would pose a threat.

"Anti-possession medallion?" Dr. McCoy asks, clearly not believing what he has overheard, "Care to share something with us, Mr. Spock?"

"Vhat is compuder hacking?" Checkov asks, perplexed, having only overheard that part.

I surmise that Mr. Checkov's history lesson's are lacking in some places.... That term....in this reality....went out of use as that "art" went somewhat to the wayside.....

I fear I have much to explain.....

That and I feel something more might soon be revealed that might be....a bit of a surprise....

I am, of course, immune to surprise.... but I must admit after recent ordeals I could do without too much more....

Later...

"Consider, Captain. We have encountered any number of phenomena unexplainable by any scientific means at our disposal. One of your Earth men, a 20th-century writer by the name of Arthur C. Clarke, posited that any sufficiently advanced technology would be indistinguishable from magic. It is entirely possible that the converse is actually the case, and that what we have assumed to be advanced technology is, in fact, magical in origin."

"Remember Sigin telling us another Spock saying the same thing," I mutter as I and the others slip the our anti-possession medallions over the last set of female heads (re: episode 18046).

That had been ten years ago. An interesting tale he'd shared with us, that. From the little I'd actually seen of that and the other Spock who'd he'd met earlier (re: 12215) was a good enough sort....but say what you will for the Enterprise crew (cira NCC-1701)....I fear I shall never think well of the Kirk who had hit upon my friend, Astra! Even the man's twin, the "elder" Kirk (re: 12215) thought little of him after that!

I and the others are keeping a weather eye on this one....but right now I think that.....somehow.....Kirk is not sure what to make of my friend. Think the ease with which Astra moves through his ship's system actually might even frighten him....

Kirk, I feel, is not sure now what to make of any of our group.

Well, whatever the case may be in that, I would rather get this over with!

Oh, we have the ship back now.....

We managed to cease control of a set of mass cargo transporters (less well guarded). Astra was able, with her skills and equipment, to fend off attempts to knock it offline as "Scotty" worked his engineering magic (after setting the transporters for living organic material. We managed to take a hold of the computer controls for the anthezine gas dispensers, knocking out 9/10ths of the ship while keeping all but a few pockets (like ours) clear. We first beamed (and stunned) the remaining pockets of resistance here. No deaths (but a lot of close calls on "our" side). We then beamed the unconscious into this cargo bay, laying on the two "spare" anti-possession necklaces throughout....one set after another...

We've been busy....

The last set of transportees are those women who'd (through their controlling entities) panicked and abandoned ship with that false breach core alarm.....

As expected, though unconscious now, they all seem to be talking in their sleep....as if talking with an adorable child, perhaps. Fear I know why...

We've been busy....as I said.

Hmmm.

Well, it is my turn....and I've been given a break while the other magic using folks are looking over their charges (watched by wide- eyed crewmembers)....

Astra and Annafrid are lending a hand also, knowing enough about magic to know how to help the mages....so their busy.

That and I believe that Uhura.....my sister....has something to ask me after she has something to say to Kirk and the others. Can see she's awaiting, patiently, enough.

Time to lend aid in the "draw a picture for 'em" game.....

  1. "I believe I could help a little here, Mr. Spock," I say, calling something up on my own PDA, "Mind if I do?"
