Partings

Thessamar entered at that moment and began to laugh.

"The money is gone! and...what in Qrom is so funny?!?"

"You my friend, you!" said Thessamar. "Only yesterday you said that such 'language' was offensive."

"Argh! You weren't in the room, and besides... oh, never mind!"

The trio searched the rooms, they interrogated the poor innkeeper, and explored the surrounding area outside this isolated wayside inn. They found signs of the trapper's exit, but realized a man such as he would be much more difficult to follow in the wild. After some discussion they made a decision.

"No money, little supplies, unknown territory," said Astra. "I have been thinking about this for some time and this clinches it, I am going back home to inform my Mother of what has transpired and to rally my sisters to this greater quest."

"But you know that Fred and I cannot join you," said Thessamar.

Astra smiled. "Yes. Your way lies west. Only if the goddess blesses you shall you find the ancient heart of the outlanders and this book which you seek. I will pray for you. If Mother agrees, I shall go west as well, and with a cadre of warriors."

Fred looked upon these two women, these two twins. "Thank you for your help, and for the help I know you will give in the future. As a favor I ask that you send word to the Duke D'Honaire of Suffex and tell him of his son in the Calamari. Tell the Allarian King of us and all that you have learned here, perhaps he will send troops as well to beyond the Dead Sea. If Zardoz was able to send us to this world, to touch this world with his magicks, then this world may be in great danger from that sorcerer."

And so they parted. Fred and Thessamar continuing their journey towards Kryse, Astra riding like the wind eastwards.
