Hero-Worship

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 1918

"Here," said the wizard, "you must be in need of refreshment." And he sat the tea and cheeses in front of them. Velus quit looking at Fred as he turned his attention to the food, but Fred knew that that was unlikely to be the end of it. He'd seen that hero-worship look on the faces of youths before. So many of them seemed to think that knighthood was all glory and adventure, or that knights were superhuman. In reality, dragon-slaying was a dangerous and gory business, and not something this innocent village kid should be getting himself mixed up in.

Abruptly, Lord Fred stood up and said:

  1. "Thank you, sir wizard, but it is time for me to leave the two of you and continue my quest."
  2. "I'm afraid we have no time for refreshments. Come, Velus!"
  3. "Sir wizard, I fear I really must insist that you help us."
