And the Answer to that Question Is...

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 19051

What to do?

Jarlath

"First thing first," I say softly, gesturing toward the shaking Tarin Gazin.

The golden amulet, a sign of certain beliefs could be the key here....

I remember the tales my brother, Fred 5, told of "his" Tarin Gazin going quiet mad (re: 4025) and while I figure that this Tarin Gazin as an elf may not be as deadly as that mad one, it would be a heck of a thing having to fight him all the same! That and if I or another one of the magic users don't do something now the ex-dwarf just might go mad....and given the nature of Matrixes.....

Ah, good, as hoped that rather soft snoring from the prone figure of Tarin means that I was able to accomplish with my sleep spell what I had hoped. As a dwarf, such a gentle spell would not have worked. If Tarin had been born an elf he'd have learned how to resist such a gentle spell. But as it was he no longer was and hadn't been so he now is. Asleep, that is!

It won't fix everything, that sleep, but it shall give us time. See, I know what must be done.... Well, I have an idea what could be done here..... Well, maybe a feeling?....

Nevermind, it's the only thing I can think of here in order to here in order to save this fellow's mind.

As best I can, I quickly explain to the alarmed Grailing what I've done and why. Seeing the look of understanding as I explain seems to say that he's as knowledgeable in the mystical arts as the Ke'lan of Terra Prime. Having been taught by the Terra Prime version of the elf before me, I had hoped....

Well, let's just say it had been a pleasure to learn under that Ke'lan, who still had a vast mystical knowledge despite not being able to cast spells.

Nice to not have to explain here.

Grailing (aka Ke'lan)

"Very well," I say slowly, looking up at the strange humans before me, "I agree that putting this poor person in an en elfin enviroment that has an important dwarven characteristic could aid his adjustment. But how did......"

I stop myself before I emphasis my question with a rather vulgar expletive.

"How did you know that there were factions within elfin society who secretly worshiped non-elfin gods," I manage to ask, "How did you know that some elfs, having lost faith in elfin theology, had turned to other religons.....like the dwarven god god of smithing, the Forge?" The red haired warrior woman chuckles a little bit at that one, a bit ruefully, and then explains.

"We know of it because we have talked with your analog," she says soflty.

  1. Eyes grow wide when I realize what she's speaking of as she explains in more detail.
