Toilet Break

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 19006

Whilst Fred waited for Velus to return, he realised that he had forgotten to introduce himself. "I am Lord Frederigo d'Honaire, Your Highness."

"Pleased to meet you. I'm Astra. Please drop the "Your Highness" nonsense. This isn't the time or the place for formality."

"How long have you been the dragon's prisoner?"

"I have no way of telling the time, except that I have been brought sixteen meals since I've been chained here. So if they are feeding me twice a day, then I've been here eight days."

"I..." Fred suddenly broke off, a strained expression on his face. "I'm sorry, but I have to go round the corner too. I'll be back in a couple of minutes." And with that he scuttled off round the corner.

Astra waited patiently - not that she had much alternative. Though she had been chained up for eight days, by her own estimate, she hadn't once felt the need for a toilet break herself. She suspected that the dragon must have been considerate enough to put a spell on her to make that unnecessary. She also felt none the worse for having been standing in almost the same position for such a prolonged period. More magic, she assumed.

Then Fred and Velus returned. And a moment after that:

  1. The castle wine cellar guardian, Reaibn, ran by screaming and hitting himself in the face with a scroll.
  2. Part of the wall slid away, revealing a clean, well let passage.
  3. The dragon appeared. "Well done, Princess," he said sardonically. "It didn't take you long to lure one of those nasty dragon-slaying knights for me."
