Fred declined the man's offer. He left the talent agency and headed into
the large, tiled hallway that led to the the elevators. The walls were
bare of decoration and flat, except for the water fountain on Fred's right.
Suddenly an earthquake struck the entire city. Fred was thrown sideways. He thumped into the wall. People screamed. Things rumbled and crashed and roiled outside. A desk went sliding down the hall. Someone was perched on it. The rumbling stopped. Fred was on the wall. Flat on the wall. Somehow the wall had replaced the floor. The water fountain was ten feet in front of him. It spewed water in all directions. Fred walked forward, toward's the elevator banks. In a normal world, the elevator would have been on the left, in a little alcove. The whole thing was a glass elevator that ran up and down the side of the building. Which in normal terms would have been the side in front of Fred... But now the entire thing had torn away from the wall, leaving a gaping hole for forty floors. Most of the hole was below Fred's current position. He peered down. Oy. Somehow the building had broken in half and was now restong on it's neighboring building, a newspaper. The elevator had plunged into the courtyard that seperated the two buildings. Most of the courtyard was on fire. Sadly Fred could see corpses... Fred retreated so he was standing by the spurting fountain again. What to do? What to do? Try and escape or search the building to see if there are injured?
