Social Saturation.....

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 18177

That's when Betty recognizes somebody near a booth.

She was dressed a bit differently than last time, but still as a medieval forester (complete with black cape and gloves). As Betty walks over, she can't help but note that Inquirer (for that is what she'd been called) does a double take when she glances over Betty's way.

"Was Morgana able to....?" Inquirer asks Brill, nodding towards Betty.

Knowing that she'd just left her long time friends (analogs of this woman before her) in the building behind her, there was a chance.....

"Track her down even though your memories of ten years ago were utterly foggy?" Brill laughs, "Yep!"

"Now I am impressed!" the female Golem whistled.

"She sure is at that." Brill agreed solemnly.

"Ten years?" Betty then manages protests, "But that was only a half.....oh...."

That's about the time she got reminded about the Doctor having a time machine. That's when the Doctor (in his third incarnation) walks up and kisses Inquirer, who kisses him back.

"You know," Brill says halfway jokingly, "I usually would have laughed at a ten year engagement....but somehow it seems to fit with the Time Lord stuff I've been reading up on the Doctor."

"Ah, I've been doing that myself," Kent chimes in, snapping a finger, "The Betty I met earlier had, while giving me a roof over my head while I was out looking for employment and adjusting to the new world I'd landed in (great heart, that one), got me interested. One episode in particular that involved parallel Earths seemed very appropriate for my situation...."

Betty remembered that one herself, and suddenly it all clicked together (and she had to wonder why she hadn't thought of it earlier). Being that she'd lectured to her Fred and Astra earlier about parallel universes and such, she has to wonder why she couldn't have thought to apply that to the question of the "others". They'd been talking about parallel versions of Avon and Blake!!

Breaking the kiss, the Doctor then turns back to Betty and the others and smiles.

"I take it that your journey was pleasant enough?" he asks, "Hope that Avon and Vila weren't too much of a chore."

"Oh, he was," Brill chuckled, "But Morgana and Rugen are now babysitting them personally."

Betty starts to giggle. She can't help it, for it's suddenly too funny.

"Poor Vila and Morgana!" she gasps, "I'm afraid we aren't seeing the B7 characters at their best..."

"I know but really!" Inquirer says in an exasperated voice, "After a bit Guardia Prime I could understand them being that way, but it's been awhile. Their Federation was brought down and they're victorious, and Avon's still acting like a twit!!"

She'd invited Avon despite her better judgment. At least the kitsune were having "fun" (as in the Warner brothers kind) with their new best pals, the "other" Vila and Avon. She could almost feel sorry for them. Almost....

"Ah, I see," the Doctor sighs, "Well, I had hoped....nevermind."

He then looks to the left and sees a large crowd approaching, joined by his long time traveling companions (who've finished their business inside that one building filled with various possible wedding gifts).

"Ah, I see that the whole clan has arrived," the Doctor says, nodding, "My dear, I think they'd like to meet the newest wedding guests!"

Betty and the others almost seem to go into name saturation as they greet the various Champions (see the addresses below to see who Betty sees).

There are others (including the rest of Blake's group, as well as the OTHER set). The most notable, somehow, is Roland's group, for some reason (just seems to stand out for Betty, despite not having read the Gunslinger series yet). That is, next to those folk from the Robot universe, natch.

However, the last two people strike a deep chord within her heart...

After all, that's what happens when doppelgangers meet and aren't instantly inclined to hate each other on sight.....

Betty stares at a very familiar looking young woman and an eerily familiar red headed woman (not an Astra but still).....

  1. "Betty Ragan....allow me to introduce you to my long time friends," Inquirer smiles, "I'd like you to meet Betty....and Ragan."
