Attacked In The Great Hall

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 18039

There wasn't even enough time for introductions as a wave of horrifying creatures attacked. They were five feet tall and mostly tail and legs. Vestigal arms hung limply and sucker mouths clacked open and shut by the dozens.
Two of the halflings went flying, smacked by tails. The redheaded one smashed into an elven lantern. It landed with him, rolling off into the darkness. A handful of foes turned and ran after the two.
"No!" Fred cried. He lopped off the head of a nearby creature, ducked under a high flying leg and went after them.
In his peripheal vision he saw the blonde elf aiming the bow and arrow at him while the two men protected him with their blades. He only had a moment's confusion before he realized the elf was planning to slay him if he tried to harm the halflings.
Fred stabbed one of the creatues bending over the chubbier one. He twirled on one foot and decapitated the second creature just as the halfling's smaller blade pierced it's stomach. Both of the smaller men smiled at him as the elf turned and shot a monster through the mouth.
Fred followed to the two to the main of the party, who were battling in a row, taking down their foes. The smaller ones slid, one after the other under a monster's wide-set legs. Fred ran up his scaly back, somersaulted off it's head. Landing, he was already turning. His blade sliced cleanly through the monster's top, spilling guts and fluid.
The group took steps inward, still blasting arrows and magic spells at the number of foes.
A creature took Fred by suprise, clamping onto his chest and raising it's mouth.
It stopped and roared, then was pulled downwards. The dwarf has slung his axe between Fred's legs, catching it on the underside of it's tail. Fred plunged his blade into the creature's neck. With his free hand he punched yet another creature out of the air as it was leaping towards the archer. One of the hobbits he hadn't saved leaned over and spilt the monster's innards.
Soon the group is forced to run due to sheer amounts of foes. They find temporary safety in...

  1. what seems to be a nursery. (Fortunately empty).
  2. in the midst of a stream. The monsters did not want to cross running water.
  3. catacombs. It took every one of them to shut the enormous doors and lower the bar.
