Best Approach?

"Wha...what?" Dragon Synizn stammers out, looking down at Andrea.

I blink back up at him, a bit surprised at his reaction.

"I asked what the best approach to dating your demifox brother, Synizn?" I ask again, "I decided on a course of action here, but I wanted to know that in order to...well....succeed. I figure taht since....they are so much like you that....well...."

Awhile ago, I had come to a decision on at least which person I'd like to cast my lot with. Don't know which one my sister, Andrea 2a, will go after but I have a.....feeling that it'll be Edward Solomon.

I've learned to trust those feelings. Comes part and parcel with being a successful mage, as a matter of fact....

"I....have no idea whatsoever on how.....to do that," he says, still looking a bit sandbagged.

Then I remember. Despite the amount of "assimilation" into humanity that the dragon mage has undergone, there still certain things that are very much the dragon. See, dragons do not have anything like a stage before marriage. No gradual, uncertain build up to a state where two draconian lovebirds will find themselves feeling enough emotions for each other to where they will "tie the knot." Instead, it's like a lightning strike! Instant and earthshaking for the dragons in question!

Should have figured that Dragon Synizn, still very much a dragon, is still under those constraints. Heck, one of the things I believe he's hoping for is to somehow meet a fellow female dragon Champion (he had made noises earlier about wanting to talk with Inquirer about that one dragoness of that good version of Minestus' group)...

Er...nevermind.

He composes himself, chuckling ruefully, and then chides himself about how of course matters like that would have changed for his brother....now that he was a demifox instead of a dragon.

Somehow, I guess, that subject never had come up between them.

"I guess I'll just ask him straight away instead of being coy," I sigh.

I figure that it'll be okay. I'm now comfortable enough with this ole reversal of the woman asking out the men, but I'm hoping that after living and working alongside Astra 4 (practically family) will have made him used to this non-Dragon way of doing things.

I put those thoughts aside when I see that the others have decided on the next course of action.....

Well, we did get a lift by Dragon Synizn, but didn't go directly to Fred's home castle.

Instead, we only traveled part way there and went the rest of the way by foot.

Princess Exotica, of course, stays behind with Sir Rodney's right hand man for safe keeping and to keep the appearance to her father (and his men) that she'd been kidnaped (and now perhaps eaten) by the "treacherous" Dragon of the Southern Caverns.

Sir Rodney goes ahead and meets with Fred's father to....pave the way....

And what would be the best approach for this next task? I ask myself, nervous despite not being at fault for anything, The guards and envoys were delighted to see me, for fears of a dragon in the region, for I at least have some experience fighting dragons....if not a full fledged, bonafide dragonslayer like Lord Frederigo. But now I've got to tell my lord that not only is this particular dragon not evil, but is aiding the long thought dead heir to the throne become the rightful king, overthrowing King Embry. Oh, and let's not forget that his son is here....but he's not himself.....and never will be again because according to the mages the magic that made them this way has....some kind of magical interference that blocks all attempts to undo it even with the strongest of magics. This is also true for the neighboring nation, the Amazons, princess as well.... Oh, and they are deeply and totally in love with each other but must return to some....other world due to racial obligations or some such?

That and we need your aid to foment a rebellion against Embry?

That and these new friends and you son, who's now a satyr, are going to go here soon and rescue the Queen from the vile clutches of the King....getting her out of harms way?

One thing at a time....slowly, so my lord and lady can brace themselves enough.
