The Never Ending Quest - Episode 17783

An author of horror stories is looking on as a odd engineering lesson being given near the TARDIS...

He had been told that usually engineering questions for one of the audience by the TARDIS usually was handled by the blond elfin lass named B Elanna. This time, however, it was being given by a former student (now full fledge mage) named Eric Solomon. Solomon had briefed B Elanna in passing earlier on the latest upgrades to the warp nacelles to the Enterprise 1701-E and had expressed a fond wish to be a teacher to his teachers instead of the reverse. The elf had nodded at that, and here the demifox mage was now, teaching to the odd group some called the Sigin clan.

What an odd clan indeed. There was a blue metallic scaled dragon. There was the blond haired man of the Doctor s group, dressed in a manner which rivaled that Time Lord. There was finally the demifox mage (in his preferred humanoid fox form) who was smiling now and then down at his mate and wife, Rosepaw.

The rest of the later s family was over here, either having a nice chat (the older members) or were playing children s games (appropriate, considering even if some of them had fox tails....they were children).

King chuckled as the pack ran by, screaming and laughing all the way.

He and his wife had been invited along by Roland so he could ease into the course of talk with his new brothers (the Synizn Clan, with the exception of Dragon Synizn who d gone out with those others worlds) in healing some lingering pains the horror author was having (getting hit by a van hurt).

So far, nothing had been broached on that subject....but then again the subject matters of the idle chatter so far (over tea) was interesting enough for King to not bother him.

He himself had asked how the Champions with a lot of look alikes were able to tell each other apart. Joan 2 had smiled a winning smile, glanced over at her companions (mostly recently created duplicates like herself), and then gestures a shapely hand at her long, magnificent dark hair. It came to light that each sister and brother chose a certain, unique hairstyle, and would not change it without consulting the others beforehand. Each hairstyle was used to tell one from the other. Joan had a different hairstyle than that of Joan 2. Same for Andrea 2 and Andrea 2a....and so on and so on.

That made sense.

Would have made perfect sense for the people back home, one of the Synizn s who d gone out adventuring with Queen Astra sighs, Simple solution. Should have thought of it myself.

Easier said than done for me, Andrea 2 sighs, Demifox hair being....stubborn by nature, it s a good thing that the Rule granted my small request to make my hair a bit longer and agreeable to being bound up in a bow!

In their most human form, a demifox s hair is a mop that can t be combed or styled in any manner short of moderately strong magical spells. Furthermore, once that hair reaches its genetically mandated length, it resists cutting (re-growing to replace what had been cut) Without the alterations done to her hair, Andrea 2 s hair would look exactly like her sister s. Nothing short of daily magic would allow one to be differentiated from the other, facial appearance wise.

This King had learned over the course of things.

The topic then drifted to the rather uncomfortable meeting with the Tom Paris and B Elanna Torres of this world s Voyager and Elrondir and B Elanna. True, while the golden haired elfin lady had no feelings of love for anyone but Elrondir and Elrondir had no fear of his B Elanna falling for anyone else (elfin hearts don t work that way). Rather, the awkwardness always was on the part of the human and the Klingon upon learning of the golden haired elfin woman s nature. Seems that neither had an easy time of seeing what was a hot and romantic relationship between themselves.....not only sour.....but that B Elanna didn t even seem ready to shed tears over it. See, the elf known as B Elanna had, before being reincarnated as an elf, had been a realistic seeming magical construct with memories and such programmed in to make the illusion. The knowledge of engineering was real enough, factual information being nothing difficult for her creator to have spirited away and tucked within her. However, upon her awakening and gaining sentience and free will, she d thought she was the real article....only for a little while. The reality of her unreality soon intruded (her emotions for her Tom had increasingly seemed.....so stale and scripted), and only by Erlondir s emotional help (then named Seeker) kept her from having a mental and emotional breakdown. Indeed, that aid had started her down the road to a relationship with Elrondir, and later events soon completed and sped up the journey a millionfold!

King kind of felt that the two elves made a lovely couple anyway, and so wasn t too sorry that any emotional turmoil between the Klingon and the elf never had materialized.

The topic then drifted to why some of those of Nantucket hadn t been able to walk through the Door that Queen Astra and her crew had come through into this world and King was less than pleased to hear of the fact that he and the rest of those who d arrived here through the Event seemed to be Anchored to this land! Then again, when the Doctor chided him about it being lucky he was anywhere right now, alive and well, after such a exotic (and dangerous according to the Timelord) means of time travel, King nodded.

They were next discussing possible reasons why the new elfin children had taken such a liking to their human parents. Synizn had some theory being that the children had been primed, magically, to automatically accept the top caste of elfin society (i.e. that caste being as tall as human beings). Since that caste hadn t been brought in yet by the now defunct Book, the little elfin hearts had automatically homed in on the closest thing....done a check on human being s character and found it more than adequate and so....instant love! He further suggested that it could be for similar reasons why the satyr children were seeing Fred and Astra the Satyres as their leader and almost like their parents. Indeed, the blasted Book appeared to have set with all the new children of fantasy with that trigger! He was going into the explanation (very technical and beyond King) when the newly repaired Key that Jarlath 2 was carrying began to ring!

  1. It had a pleasant, archaic telephone ring to it similar to what the TARDIS telephone would give off, so at first some people glance at it (usually silent since it was meant to be a prop created by the Chameleon Circuit)...
