Hmmm. Maybe a familiar Guardian will show the way home!

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 17693

Scott and Samantha are going through the morning ritual of waking up and getting dressed for work. As they are dressing, they discuss what has been going on.

"So you think that even if we ran across another Scott, he couldn't help us?" Samantha asks, pulling on her tunic.

"Well, think about it." Scott saves, waving the shaver he was using. "Q came and gave us a roundabout warning to NOT mess with reality that way anymore. Not only that, but . . . how could the Hopper get us home if we don't have the signature on file, and our bleeping signatures match that of this universe? I know that there's always a chance that we'd end up their by accident, but the figures against that happening . . . . they haven't named the number!"

The mood is sliding into morose when, furry Samantha Wildman has a flash of brilliance!

"Scott, I think I have an answer to our problem!" she nearly shouts. Scott turns and sees his wife beaming with joy. Scott steps closer, wondering what is up.

"You remember were Kirk went back through the Guardian of Forever?" Samantha says, hardly able to contain herself.

"Yes, but what has time travel got to do with this?" Scott asks, not following his wife, and really wishing he could.

"Well, I've studied some of the more tame theories on how exactly the Guardian works, and there's one theory that states that the Guardian touches ALL times, even those of parallel universes! What make it even better is that we don't . . . ." She laughs (a trilling cat purr present there), and then continues.

"We don' need no stinkin' signatures." she says in a bad imitation of the Mexican law official from "Butch Casidy and the Sundance Kid."

"And . . . . maybe the Q will let us get back that way!" Scott gasps. He and Samantha hurry through the rest of the morning ritual, kiss Naomi and hurry to her class, and head up to see one of the Assistant Chief Engineers (the Torreses or human Chakotay will do). If they can sell this idea to their higher up (doing it this way as to NOT step on toes by running to the chain of commands head . . . . )

All the while, as they tell an increasingly interested human Chakotay, Samantha and Scott hold back a feeling that, even if they get back to the Alpha Quadrant, find this universes Guardian of Forever, that there will be SOME type of curve ball in the works . . . .

  1. Furry Ensign Wildman, tail twitching in anticipation, along with Scott (who's holding his breath) awaits to see what Chakotay will say about THIS!
