Married....but hardly out of the adventuring circuit.

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 1764

Fred and Astra are standing before the cleric and things are going true to form. It is almost a textbook wedding.....on a grande scale. The bride is glorious in her white bridal gown (uh....right). The groom feels content, as if nothing was wrong with the world. Even his father looks happy, a rare occurance ever since the death of Fred's mother! Despite that, his father had always been their to lend advice or whatever a father should do (the man was even more of a stickler for honor and virute than Fred was).

"I now pronounce you man and wife," the cleric says solemly.

So, after a kiss and the wedding night, what follows is several months of marital bliss. Fred and Astra surprise themselves in finding that a life of raising children is, while trying at times, is also rewarding. What really surprises all is that the children show early aptittude where it comes to handling cannines. It was discovered when the hunting hounds responded in parculiar ways to the way the way the children cooed at them. Magical examination turned up some basic communication was occuring between baby and beast. Fred, at a loss of words, finally just puts it down to their unusual.....origins.

Finally, something raises it's head to disturb this scene. It comes in the form of of an unexpected visitor.

"My lord," the servant says. "I have a guest here who would like to talk with you. He is....rather unusual and we'd never had given him an audience but....."

"Spit it out," Fred sighs. One thing that Fred found annoying was a long winded servants!

"My lord," the servant swallows nervously. "He's here to apply for the position to of Court Mage, but he asked to speak with you directly. It's to do with the an old friend called.....Synizn?"

Fred blinks at the servant, and then tells the servant to get this man in here NOW!

Fred looks down at his guest, wondering just how this person is related to the were-bear, besides the obvious nature that they share.

The demi-fox's tail and ears twitchs in aggitation, then he speaks.

"I see that life has been treating you well, Lord Frederigo." the male were-fox sighs. "I wish that I could say the same for me since the last time we met....after I cured you and your loved ones......Oh, I was able to change my lycanthropic nature with the Crystallic. Partly to bring some control back to my life.....but mostly to hide from those who would misuse the Crystallic!"

Fred stare down at the former were-bear, amazed.

"Fred," Synizn says solemly. "I need your help in my quest to destroy the Crystallic in such a way to prevent it from being recreated EVER! The item is just too powerful to be left existing, despite it's curative properties. I....need you help and....offer my life in service to you and your descendants in exhange for your help.......

  1. Fred sighs and explains......
  2. The room shudders. Company? Good thing that Astra and the kits....er....kids are away visiting the grandparents....
  3. Fred demands an explanation.
