An Unexpected Reunion

I admit it, I'm kind of excited to be here, in this particular "crossover." Well, not nearly as excited as I was to meet the Doctor, of course, or the Blake's 7 gang... OK, well, maybe this stuff is almost getting to be old hat, but, still, I grew up reading Asimov, and I remember the robot books, in particular with great fondness. Although it's been long enough since I read about this particular "police investigation" that I not only don't remember whodunnit, I'm actually having some trouble remembering just what it is they dun. Still, the Champions we met back on Leela's planet gave us a general idea of what's going on, and Inquirer seems to know the plot of this one... I just hope she doesn't decide to turn this little mission into a crusade to liberate the robots of Earth. Then again, that might be interesting. Hmm. Pity we left Orac on Terra Prime...

"Uh, what's that doing here?" says Gilmuriel as we step out of the TARDIS.

I look where he's pointing, and do a double-take. It's a... police box? I swivel my head back around. Police box behind me. Police box in front of me. Two police boxes. Two... TARDISes?

The Doctor gets a strange look on his face and goes up to the other... yeah, I'm pretty sure it's another TARDIS. He touches the side of it gently, and, for just a moment, looks kind of sad and far-away. I suddenly remember what happened to his TARDIS -- his original TARDIS, not the one we commandeered from the Master -- and I understand, sort of. This must be an analog of the old girl. I wonder where the Doctor-analog is, and who he's got with him?

Inquirer steps up to him without speaking and puts a comforting hand on his shoulder. The Doctor straightens up, turns around, and says, "Right, well, let's not stand around all day, shall we?" Slightly embarrassed by having witnessed this emotional moment, we all quickly mumble our willingness to proceed with... well, whatever it is we're meant to be doing here.

1. At this point, however, an official-looking man comes up to us.. He seems very annoyed...
