and then Fred giggled

Astra glared at him through vixen eyes. "At least I'm trying something!" she growled.

"Yeah, right," grumbled Fred. "We're in a dry wasteland, not your motherland! You're singing to a goddess who doesn't even live in this neck of the woods..." Fred then looked about the sandy waste and reconsidered his expression. "... er, this part of town... uh, I mean this side of the tracks... um, that is--"

"Shut up!" hollered Astra. "I know what you mean! And I must confess, you are one ignorant son of a--"

"Whoa!" retorted Fred. "Watch your snout, young lady. My Family has nothing to do with my ignorance!"

"You got that right," murmured Astra.

"What were you hoping to accomplish, hmmm?" smirked Fred.

"I don't know. Maybe Nava would send us a way out of here, maybe send us Pegasus."

"Pega-what???"

"Pegasus, the flying horse!"

"Now I know you're off your rocker... er, short a few marbles... um, shy a full deck... uh,--"

"Shut up!" hollered Astra. "I get your point! And once again, you show your provincial, parroquial, short-sighted ways!"

"Me?!? Why you! You expect me to believe that horses can fly? That a hair-covered beast of burden can sprout feathers? Don't you know aerodynamics?!!? I spent a year in the Tower of Ganthet just studying how dragons do it! Don't you know that the air-pressure below its wings must be greater than the air-pressure above? And that the lift therefrom created must be greater than the weight of the animal and its load combined? No pressure, no lift; no lift, no flight. The wingspan of such a "horse" would have to be sixty feet at least and how unsightly is that?!?"

"But he does fly!"

"No he doesn't."

"Yes, he does!"

"Can't."

"Can too!"

"Impossible."

"Not for the Goddess!"

"We've never heard of him."

"That doesn't matter!"

"I don't believe it."

"So what?!!?"

And so they continued for quite some time.

1. After much yelling and screaming the two finally calm down and make some kind of decision as to where to go.
2. Somewhere else something else was happening.
