A Fantasy Quest

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 16959

The Scenario: The royal king of the far-off land of Hapes sends a team of warriors to rescue the drunken, lout Argyle. Nobody likes Argyle but he's the only one who can stand half a chance of winning the BrokenBall team game against the mighty Quoron team. A third country, Drexall, is tied up in all this. Their society is based on physicallity. They have promised to reward a mighty grain shipment contract to Hapes if their team wins BrokenBall. Hapes needs this as their stocks are low and if they don't get more soon, a famine will erupt.

Argyle has run off with his scummy friends to the Caverns, a place in Quoron where no civillian goes. A hive of scum and villiany, if you will.

The Heroes:
Denia, a swordswoman. This gets her nowhere in the sexist realm of the Hapes castle, so she took the quest simply to have an excuse to leave and gain her fortune. She doesn't plan to return. She's the typical amazonian warrior and hates children. Rumors abound in the capitol city that she uses their guts to string her crossbow.
Hal is a theif who actually steals, unlike the other thieves in other realms. (Hal could never understand just what they did). He keeps his word, though, and has promised not to steal from the citizens of Hapes Castle or the adventure party. He agrees to go along because the King has promised that if he uses his skills for the benefit of the party, he can keep any other loot he lays his hands on. He also has a bit of a precognition power but he can only see five hundred years into the future and no less, so it's a bit pointless.

Thyd looks like the generic barbarian warrior. In reality, he is a popular author. He's written many scrolls, including, 'Don't Worry, You're A Good Person', 'Don't Worry, You're Still A Good Person', 'How To Develop Friends And Forget Foes' and 'Eviscerating Demons: A Layman's Guide To The Dark Realms'.
Wayland is the generic priest, healer type. He can recite the Holy Day Speech in forty different languages, treat most any injuries with modern medicine, heal minor wounds, give blessings in five major religions and tear the head off an ogre with his bare hands. He and Thyd have arm- wrestling contests when bored.

  1. So off they go. Nothing much happens for the first four hours.
  2. Thyd distracts the gaurds by autographing copies of his works while the others sneak in.
