The Never Ending Quest - Episode 16832

Amy can see Fred's discomfort. "You men are all so funny!" she laughes.

"What do you mean?"

"Why don't I show you where I live? You might find it humorous."

She peaks her head into the hallway to make certain no one is coming. Then she takes Fred in the bathrobe to the stairway. Again she peaks to make sure no one is there. They go down the stairs to the basement. "This is where I live," she says as she opens the door.

A few strained beams of light enter the apartment from windows high along the wall. The front room has a lot of furniture that looks like it didn't fit in the other rooms thrown around here. Amy leads Fred through the maze to the next room. This room is set out in grand fashion, with a massive dining room table, exotic china is set on the table and shields of four countries and various weapons hang around the walls. The tableware is all bright gold.

"Where did you get this?" asks Fred.

"I take care of the four apartments in this building. The residents who pass through have given me these things as gifts. I also go to court and noblemen give me the place settings. Some give me gold every month so that I will safely guard a ring or hankerchief they happen to be missing." She smiles and continues. "It's not a bad job at all for me. You just have to know how to take advantage of it."

"Who eats down here?" asks Fred looking at the expensive layout.

"Oh, it's just me and a few friends here and there. You're the first person from an apartment to visit."

"Why me?"

"I don't know. You seem cute and innocent. I could see the sword was valuable to you for your fighting on the way back. Many knights only care about the time they have here. You were only going to give up a silly knife." She saunters to the the hallway and then to the bedroom where she sits on the bed. It is a massive bed, with a dark red bedspread and subtle embroidery in true red. Gold coins decorate the room in a silver basket on a rosewood nightstand. Other expensive items are placed around the room.

"So, it is to be a knife, is it?" She starts to pull the robe off of Fred.

  1. Fred agrees.
  2. Fred declines. He does not want his weapon to be a trophy to anyone.
  3. Fred threatens to blackmail her to the court if she does not give him money.
  4. Fred comes up with a game to risk his sword if she risks other prizes.
