The Never Ending Quest - Episode 16787

"There's just a chance," Jarlath says, hope dawning in his eyes. "If we can persuade him to help."

Meanwhile, back in another reality....

Zerm mutters something scatalogical as he studies the latest results of his divinations on the viability of the human race on the world he was on....

"Much more of this and humanity is doomed to extinction," he mutters to himself, seeing the latest death count of the victims of the plague sweeping the lands.

The hell of it was that Zerm had the cure, but those in power wouldn't let him implement it's administration. He could just go ahead anyway and force this issue, but the Atlantian mage was held in check by vows of non-interference to his gods (could only act on such matters with permissions by the leaders of the masses he would be aiding). That and he had a growing....conviction....that this world would be better off if humanity (at least on this world) was dead and dust.

Indeed, the callous disregard to other intelligent beings the other humans seemed to have (as witness of the harvesting of non-humans for spell components) sickened Zerm to no ends!

So Zerm kept on protecting the griffons, as what honor and debt called for.....

Sooner or later that Astra would decide what she'd do with her evil twin. While Zerm would have prefered her to just give the evil woman over to him so that otherwise waste of flesh would have soem use to bolster the flagging griffon population, Zerm was willing to bet Astra would challenge the woman to a duel of honor to the death. Zerm could understand the feelings, really, but.....

Anyway, to the task at hand at checking up on those strangers....

Sighing, he turned to see the latest on the happenings with those recent visitors. The wards he had set on them had signalled him about something odd happening, and it was high time to catch up on what had been happening....

Oh, he could with little effort magically listen in to them and see what they saw....but that would be too invasive to privacy. Instead, he just got general information: like the general enviroment around them, coordinates, the creatures they were near, and things of that nature.

His brows crease in surprise as he sees some odd readings. Spell residue and such....

"A wish spell?!" he blinks in surprise. "A vanished magic not only fresh....but used to break one of those damned curses the Anithesises came upon? Fascinating!"

He then saw that "wish" had caused some odd things to the Unseelie curse, brought about in part with the presence of that pixie at a critical juncture....

"Oh no..." Zerm whispers, blood draining from his face....

He then started to cast a spell....

  1. "Not much time," he mutters hurriedly....
