It was an accident. Gelob, the janitor of earth, had taken the forest
from it's position to do some regular cleaning--you know, make sure nature
was doing her job and all. For some reason, the moss in Fred's forest was
growing on the South side of trees. He took some similar forest from
another planet on the far side of the universe for comparison. Goleb
realized that one of the Tree Inverters had gone bad and replaced it. He
then put both forests back in their places. It was not until a couple
days later that he realized the mistake. By that time he was so
embarassed that he did not want to switch them back. Fred did not notice anything different for a couple days. It was not until late one night that he looked up at the stars and saw they were all different. He was startled by this, but had no explanation. Obviously, he did not think that he had just been transferred to another planet by a janitor of space. The forest around him was all the same, but the stars were very different.
