"How is it that you know these knights' leader, seeing that they are from
Kells?" Fred
asks Diana. She looks troubled. "I cannot tell you without betraying a
confidence. Please do not press me on this." Fred does not question her
any further,
but it revives his doubts about her, which he had put to one side after
she had
showed such bravery against the orcs. She clearly has a secret. What is
it? He hopes
that it will not turn out to be anything bad.
Diana changes the subject. "You are being too brave for your own good again, Lord Frederigo. You told Sir Lionel: 'Let me rest my leg a moment.' But it will be at least some hours before you can walk any distance unaided. I had a quiet word with Sir Lionel and told him as much, which is why we are resting here for now and he has had his men construct the fort. We will spend the night here."
