Dead Earth?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 16706

"What?" Betty said. "Used to be my Earth? I don't understand. Thanks to our intervention, my Earth finished up in a different universe - Terra Prime's universe - but it wasn't harmed." [9333 et seq]

"It wasn't harmed then," the Doctor said, a sad look on his face, "but the time we are in now is a few thousand years later, and something very bad appears to have happened in the meantime. I can't say for sure whether all life has been wiped out, but there is nothing living within the reach of the TARDIS's sensors." "The Master's doing?" Ragan asked. "Not necessarily, though he obviously knew about what had happened here - whatever it might have been. Whether he's sent us here for any particular reason other than to give us a nasty shock, no doubt we shall soon find out."

  1. The Master communicates with them.
  2. Something living is picked up by the sensors at the limit of their range.
  3. Fred has another vision.
