The Never Ending Quest - Episode 16660

And so he set about carrying out his destiny. The being who had recruited him had increased his intelligence and strength and given him magical and scientific knowledge. So he set about repairing the woman/TARDIS. She turned out to be named Compassion, and had once belonged to an analog of the rogue Time Lord known as the Doctor. He had ages ago gotten ahold of the Crystallic in his world and built it into his TARDIS, allowing him to travel to alternate worlds. He had spent some time in an alternate world that mirrored the Arthurian legends of his world, and played the role of Merlin. He had also analyzed the Crystallic, and attempted to create another one himself. Although the proto-Crystallic curcuit he built was not anywhere near as powerful as a real Crystallic, it did allow travel to alternate worlds through the Atlantean Slipgate system.

He explained to her what was at stake, and she agreed to aid him. He altered her, linking her proto- Crystallic curcuit fully to the Crystallic within him, making her more powerful. With her help, he created the Book system using a hybrid of magic and science. It would monitor nearby universes, seeking out the greatest heroes in each one, with a special emphasis on Freds and Astras. It also was programmed to obtain an analog of Scott Chen.

He landed her on a planet on the edge of a rather small universe. (It only had seven "sectors.") Once there, she took the form of a red pyramid. And so for centuries Compassion stood and waited. A small civilization grew up around her, worshipping the pyramid. It died out, leaving a network of rope bridges around the pyramid and a few ruins. And Silverhand waited.

And now, the wait was over. The time had come to strike. The Jade Pagoda was making its way back to Compassion, and then he would explain to the heroes what was going on.

Suddenly, he felt a queasy feeling in what would be the pit of his stomach if he had one anymore. On the viewscreen he had installed, information was being transmmitted. It was from the book. He was puzzled to find that it was a set of dirty limericks.

Then, more information flashed on the screen, information from the book's diagnostic system, which recorded when the book went wrong and why. He read it, and saw that
