Hannah's newly girlish mind dissolved into brutish simplicity, and while her voice box might still have been fully functional, it didn't matter since all at once she lacked the intelligence to produce any sound more advanced than a grunt or growl. Meanwhile, her body metamorphosed as well. She fell to her hands and knees and grew into a four-legged creature with disproportionately long legs with wickedly curved claws at the ends of them. Her neck became about six feet long and very flexible as pasty grey scales sprouted all over her body. Her head grew large and diamond-shaped, and when she opened her mouth—now lined with two sets of razor sharp teeth—wide, it took up half her face. Her nose sank into her face, her eyes moved far apart and turned yellow, her pupils shrank into vertical slits, and an ugly tuft of wiry brown hair grew on either side of her head. She was now eight feet tall—fourteen when she stretched her neck up—foul-smelling, ugly enough to turn a cockatrice to stone, and both stupider and meaner than she'd ever been. A single shred of her old self remained in her—which was necessary if one could ever hope to restore her—but it was completely dormant. She was no longer anything close to human. This had been arranged specifically by Belboz so that when she was eventually returned to her human (still female, of course) form, she would actually be grateful for it. It was brilliant.
