As Stacy hurried up, relieved both to have extricated herself from an awkward situation and to have found her friends again, the first thing she heard was Betty-1 saying in an exasperated tone: "I am not a bungee jumper. You must have mistaken me for someone else. The very thought of bungee jumping makes me feel ill."

"We know you like to go incognito, Annanova," a woman in the crowd said, "but you can't fool us. Surely it won't hurt you to sign a few autograph books?"

  1. Betty-1 sighed in resignation, and began signing the proferred books with "Annanova", as illegibly as she could in case she wasn't spelling it correctly.
  2. From somewhere far behind them there came a shout of: "Stop them! They're illegal immigrants."
