Don't Trust Your Safety To A Stranger In Enemy Territory

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 16406

Fred was not satisfied with the young woman's answers.

A well-bred young lady should not be so calm and independent in such circumstances. There should be tears, an attempt to flee, clinging, fear of recapture, demands to be taken home at once. She trusted him too easily, not questioning his possible association with her alledged captors. The fact that she was willing to leave and attempt to return home on her own indicated she perhaps had companions nearby or other resources at her disposal.

There was also the fact that he had hardly come very far into the cave system at all. So close to the entrance, she should already have been able to find her own way out. Neither had she asked him for a spare torch.

Something was definitely wrong here.

Lord Frederigo seized the wench's arm and moved quickly, twisting it behind her back, drawing a sturdy pieces of twine from his pockets to secure her hands behind her back.

'Diana' cried out in protest, immediately beginning to struggle, "Sir! What are you doing? Please stop! You're hurting me. Loose me and let me go. You dare not! I am the daughter of the King! I am under the protection of Edward The Counsellor!" She was surprisingly strong and supple, but Fred had spent his youth hobbling aggressive warhorses whose fondest wish was cave in his forehead with an ironshod hoof. He was a champion at knot-tying.

"Nay, my fair lass. You are not to be trusted. Do not struggle least you harm yourself. Do not call out for help or I will run you through with my sword."

She was far too comely and buxom. The King had many good qualities, but a handsome man he was not and had never been. Nor did he have yellow hair. Neither did Edward's wife, who was known for her fondness for creating long and complicated names for her pets and possessions. It would've been unthinkable select such a simple name as Diana for any child of hers.

Fred turned the young woman to face him, pulling a bit of cloth from his pocket. Bound, she was the picture of innocence and misery. "Please," she pleaded, in a voice that could've melted a heart of stone. "I beg you. Free me. Let me go. I will trouble you no more."

  1. Fred is moved by her beauty and unties her hands.
  2. Fred still does not trust her and will go head with his plan to gag her.
  3. Fred does not trust her, but feels pity and puts the gag away.
