Stacey looked over at a demolition site. She decided to test her strength
there. She was so excited that she began to skip, something she had not
done in . . . well, longer than she cared to remember. In just a few hops
she had gone several blocks. She was starting to feel giddy, so giddy that
she didn't see that she landed on the third story ledge of the building.
So giddy, that she didn't see hear the workmen screaming for her to look
out. She didn't even see the wrecking ball. You might think that she felt
it as it struck her, smashing her into the concrete of the exterior walls,
and you'd be wrong. All she noticed was that she was swinging, and that
only added to her giddy feelings.
When she did finally realize come back down to earth, so to speak, she
looked at the operator of the wrecking ball. Her lips curled in an evil
grin.
"So, you want to play ball," her voice boomed louder than impact of the
ball, "well, great. You had your turn, now it's mine." She started
running towards the wrecking ball, moving faster than she had ever moved
before, and then jumped up to the metal arm holding the ball. Like grass
the steel that held the wrecking ball ripped off, pulling her down with it.
Despite falling on top of the ball, she was totally unhurt.
"I wasn't ready for the weight, but," she lifted the metal tethers and
began swinging the ball like a cowgirl would a lasso, " . . . but I'll bet
you aren't ready for this.
