As apparently envisaged by Zerm.....

As apparently envisaged by Zerm, the combat has to wait until they have managed to track down the Unseelie Fred on this world. Until then, Arthema comes with them as a captive.

But by no means is getting it this way with Astra easy!

Oh, the thing lies more within Fred the pixie's fairy nature. He has to reign in a VERY sharp twinge of impatience and resist the urge to laugh and jeer at the others for not noticing. He and apparently this Zerm fellow (he would have to ask what exactly the history there was between one of these analogous Zerms and this group had with each other) had been able to tell the tell tale signs easily enough. Zerm was able to tell due, Fred reasoned, due to his rather powerful magery powers (no doubt augmented in part by that Crystallic). As for himself, he was Seelie enough (and he felt himself becoming more so as time went on) to detect it.

"It makes no difference. My mind is made up," Astra 9 says, her face set.

"I see, and after the battle is through and you do happen to kill Arthema we can just all go home and call it done," Fred says with a trace of annoyance he just can't keep out of his voice, "Indeed, it's been rather trying to resist just that seductive call of the Fey. Just a name or a spell....and it be done and we'd write off the Unseelie accursed."

He can't help but feel a bit of fright in the longing he feels at the last to....just let go and let it happen. It even shows in his voice in the end.....

A small, tight and fierce smile then graces the pixies face. He knows that he's being rather abrassive....but the stress is getting to him.....

"Just like if you actually manage to kill her," the pixie finishes, pointing to various points on the still groggy Arthema's body, "From what I can tell how her left breast is regenerating and her legs are just now developing a course goat like fur as well as the beginning of the legs of the type of Fey that lures men to their deaths....to drink their blood."

Several eyes grow wide. It seemed that, if their knowledge of the Unseelie is right, that this kind of thing that Arthema was beginning to change into had the upper body of a beautiful, lusty woman who hide their lower goat legs with long skirts. So much the better to lure men to their death and dine on their blood.....

Arthema's eyes grow wide when she finally wakes up to see the others looking down at her as she was, naked, bound and gagged.

Her eyes lock on Astra's and it's just as well that the others can't understand what she's screaming through her gag......it sounded rather vile!

"Soon....I promise you," Astra says softly, promising herself and her evil twin, "Soon enough...."

But the rage boiled within her and she wondered if she could wait. Then again, if Fred the pixie can resist the call of the Fey (a tremendous task....as what she sees in his pain etched face whenever he thinks nobody is watching)....then she darn well could hold her vengeance for later.

Meanwhile, the Unseelie afflicted Fred has awoken from where Zerm had teleported him back to....and with a feeling of unease decides that he better get a move on away from those warrior woman he'd seen.....

1. "Damn strange time to take a nap," he mutters, not convinced at all that was what happened but at a loss for a better explanation for now....
