The Never Ending Quest - Episode 16200

"Hey, that's not nice!" shouts the little hatchling, and lets off a HUGE lightning bolt from his mouth and shoots it BARELY over the head of the Sivak Draconian known as Slith. He and the others scream (Author's Note: hey, wouldn't you scream if someone shot lightning bolts at YOU?) and dive for cover. Scott hears a chirping, crying noise from a bundle that several draconians dive to cover.... to protect!

"Junior! Stop that!" Scott scolds the young dragon. "Stop scaring the Draconians like that. And while you're at it, don't scare ME like that!"

The newly named hatchling, Junior, pouts and then smiles a devilish grin.

"Oh, I was only trying to get their attention." explains the little dragon.

"You sure as hell GOT it!" shouts Kang and Slith together.

"How in the Abyss is a little hatchling able to shoot so big of lightning bolts?!" Kang goes on. "I've only seen something like that from the old dragons, and even THEN not as large as that!"

Scott, seeing that the draconians (and the dwarves) have no intent on trying to.....interrogate Scott for what he knows, Scott tries to ease the tension. Scott knows that Junior, in his youthened state, probably have no idea how to get out of these dangerous caverns. His best bet, crazy as it seems, is to hope that these draconians, a race of mutant humaniod dragons twisted by the Dark Queen, Takhisis, into humaniod soldiers under her thrall. Kang and his draconians were a touch different from the run of the mill draconians (besides probably being the only surviving group from the last Dragonlance war) were not crude, uncaring, murderous creatures. They were admittedly bloodthirsty, but they were disciplined, and Kang....from what Scott remembered from "The Doom Brigade" had developed a sense of honor. Scott was hoping that this....would help him.

"Look, Commander Kang." Scott says in a calm, rational voice. "I think we can come to a happy business deal here. I need to get back to the surface.....for all I know a patrol of Drow from Menzoberranzan, don't ask, will show up and start to make things .....difficult for me. The hatchling seems to listen to me....I think I can keep him in line. In exhange for not having him not tearing you up....you guys are still weak from that last encounter from those Choas dragons and while you may be able to take him out... you'll lose a LOT of men.....maybe even those female draconian's that you found in that Thorbardin treasure hoard....wipe out the LAST chance your Draconian race has to continue......."

Kang looks strangely at Scott, and then nervously at Junior. Scott could see what harm an angry hatchling would do to them, and so can the Draconians. The dwarves have slipped away into the darkness, and as far as Scott was concerned they could dig all day and sing "High Ho! High Ho!" for all he cared! Scott never liked dwarves, especially Krynn dwarves!

Now, what does Kang and the Draconians do?

  1. Kang swears in Draconian as he feels all his memorized spells slip away! What just happened here?
