Fred got up from his seat and went over to talk to the man with the
hideously deformed face. As he drew closer, he could see that the man's
face wasn't just hideously deformed, it was hideously deformed and
heavily scarred. His sunken, reddish eyes and bulbous, wart-encrusted nose
looked like some sort of natural deformity, but on top of that, his face
had apparently, at some time, been sliced, diced, burned, folded,
mutilated, and quite probably spindled. Fred, being the brave knight that
he was, did not flinch away, but it wasn't exactly easy. "Hello!" he said, in as bright and friendly a manner as he could manage. "The blue-haired dwarf over there says that you've been back from the dead, and I was just wondering if that was actually true." The hooded eyes bored deeply into him for a moment, and then the deformed stranger said:
