"But My Lady," her driver objected, "that is a little-travelled road. The
inns are rough
and widely separated, and there is a risk of encountering bandits."
The sly and devious, but rash and inexperienced, Lady Andrea brushed his
objections
aside. An adventure would not be an adventure if it did not have some
slight element of
danger attached to it. "I can sleep in the carriage any time there is no
inn nearby,"
she said. "I have a rug that will keep me warm if the night is chilly. And
we have
plenty of supplies, do we not?" "Yes, My Lady," the driver said, thinking
that she
seemed to show no concern about where he might sleep. He doubted
that she would invite
him to sleep on the opposite coach seat to herself.
