Luckily, Fred found another trapdoor he might be able to escape through. But the odd footstepts (who new that he was in there) were coming ever closer. Fred thought he could hear two pairs of feet, one slightly heavier than the other.
Fred bent over and pulled the trapdoor. It was jammed! He was unable to get his fingers between the trapdoor and the floor. If he only had something to jerk it open with...
The trapdoor above his head started opening.

  1. He drew his sword and got ready to... wait! He could use his sword to open the trapdoor!
  2. He drew his sword and got ready to fight them. They were only two, right?
  3. He desperately started searching the room for something he could use to open the trapdoor.
