  1. "I don't need to know anything about it in order to maintain it. As long as I stay in this room, the universe will continue to run as it should."
  2. "It's all a question of scale. I know plenty about the universe as a whole, just not about this piddling little planet."
  3. "Well, that's what the god who gave me the job told me I'd be doing."
  4. "All right, I was lying. It's just that I'm frightened at the thought of leaving this room. Do you know how long I've been here?"
