In the Year of our Lord 2017, the planet called Earth by the Anglo-Saxon majority was invaded by a small Rexalian tribe that came in through a warp in the reality of space/time. Despite being currently stuck in their Bronze Age, the Rexalians had approximately 900x the reflex time of Humans, allowing them to dodge both bullets and nuclear bombs as well as missiles with ease. "They were just too slow, these hew-mins," a Rexalian Elder admitted later. "But we really admire their technology." All of Earth's forces suffered catastrophic and demoralizing losses, further exacerbated by the extensive environmental damage caused by panicked nuclear strikes by the nations against each other. The Rexalians titled themselves "Conquerors of Destiny", and proceeded to turn the Humans into a vast slave population. Thirty years after the War, a young Human hacker named Tian, on leave from pyramid construction duty, comes across an ancient Genesis in a slum antique shop. The device still has all wires and controllers, and looks like it would probably work on Tian's 23" Toshiba. "Twenty thousand dollars." cackles the owner, an old and very mutilated attack cyborg, but still glowing with cybernetic energy and obviously very dangerous. "Games cost $500 extra, but since I'm feeling nice today I'll throw in Last Battle and Sonic the Hedgehog in for free."
