It was feminine like everything else, but it was decent, modest, and comfortable. Yes, this was his choice. Fred slipped into the coat, and immediately his body began to change to suit it. The coat was definitely oversized, and he expanded to fill all the extra space—in a way that made it very obvious to him that he was, in fact, now a her. Her blond hair went silver, her skin sagged, and within a minute Lord Frederigo had become Doris, a dumpy 88-year-old granny who lived in a cottage in the woods. Doris looked around her home. The fire was going, and she'd knitted plenty of blankets, but she hadn't started on the stew yet! What would her grandchildren eat? She pulled herself to her feet with the help of her cane, and started in the direction of the pots and pans. By the time the group of seven of her twenty-nine grandchildren arrived, the stew was halfway done. They crowded around her, some shouting gleefully and some actually helping with the preparation, but all were soon quieted by their granny's delicious stew. As she settled down into her own chair, Granny Doris pulled her coat closer around her, grateful for its warmth. She looked at the happy faces of her grandchildren, trying to remind herself of all their names. In the last few years she'd finally begun going rather senile, but the oldest of these seven was fourteen, so they were watching over her just as much as she was watching over them. After several minutes there was a knock on the door, and the eldest grandchild, Everett, went to answer it. Given Granny Doris's isolated location, there were only a few people it could be, and sure enough, Everett opened it to reveal the kind woodsman, Jacob, who lived across the river and often helped Granny Doris out around the house.
