The Never Ending Quest - Episode 15146

"What shall we do?" Exotica asked. "Hail the riders, or try to hide from them?" "We'll have to take the risk of hailing them. We can't last more than another day or so in the desert without food or water." So Fred and Exotica climbed to the top of a nearby dune and waved and shouted to the riders, while Velus barked.

As the riders drew ever closer, Fred, the princess and Velus could see that:

  1. The riders and their mounts looked normal enough.
  2. Just as the coloration of the sand was strange, so was the skin colour of the riders.
  3. The riders looked normal, but their mounts were like no creature that Fred or Exotica had ever heard of.
  4. Both the riders and their mounts were like nothing that our heroes had ever imagined.
  5. The riders appeared somehow not to have seen or heard them, as they remained on a course that would take them past at a distance of a hundred yards or so.
