The entrance to the caves that Fred had used originally was high in the
foothills of
the Shreken mountains. Somehow, though, without being aware of it, whilst
they were wandering
through the cave system they must have climbed much higher still. They had
emerged
onto a plateau at the top of one of the mountain peaks. In spite of the
bright sunshine,
the plateau was covered in several inches of fresh snow, and the
temperature was about
-5C (23F). "We've got to go back inside," the naked Astra said, shivering.
