Astra Watches the Last Battle

Astra guessed she was now about sixty years of age. Had she been brought
forward in
time to witness the ultimate victory of the Dragon, some thirtyfive years
after her
vain attempt to destroy him? Could the Dragon's magic have been
responsible for
doing this to her? Things had obviously deteriorated a lot since "her"
day. Back then the
Dragon's forces would have been far too weak to take on the armies of her
country and
of Frederigo's (for she recognised both countries' standards on the
battlefield) in a
full-scale battle.
Astra had a few aches in her joints, and her eyesight was noticeably worse, but apart from that she didn't feel too bad. She would have been tempted to join in the battle, but her red velvet dress was not really suitable and, far worse, she still didn't have a weapon. Astra managed to make her way to the side of the battlefield. Fortunately, no-one seemed to see her as a threat, for she was not attacked. Once on the side- lines she watched as:
