The Never Ending Quest - Episode 14613

Fred puts the bottle in his pouch. It might come in handy later on. He decides to walk away from the beach towards a city he could see nearby. Little does he know the danger he is in, however, as is strolling on the very private beach of Governor Gilder.

Gilder is the ruler of this part of Hespan, the Corona-del-Mar provence, and his residence is in the fair white stone city of Corona…the same city Fred is walking towards now. The provence is the southernmost of Hespan's mainlaind empire (Not taking into account Nom Malbra and the island Caibu, far to the south, and other smaller silver mining colonies far to the southeast) and is bordered on the east by the Aryn Ocean.

The city of Corona was built near the sea and is the strongest seaport in the empire. It's huge harbor contains one fourth of the entire empire's impressive armada of ships. There is no other city to rival it anywhere close, unless maybe Collinsport were considered, but that is far to the south in Allaria. The provence is also heavily wooded, unlike most of Hespan, and produces half of the wood that is used to make the gigantic masts and frames of the world's largest fleet of ships.

Fred is blissfully unaware that ten men on horseback are charging at him with scimitars drawn.

  1. He does not notice the horsemen until it is too late
  2. He notices the approaching men just in time
