The Never Ending Quest - Episode 14361

You are about to try to find out where the wine is kept when a servant in white livery brushes past you and hands a crystal carafé filled with a deep purple liquid to Cartagia.

"Uh..." you stammer, confused.

"Don't worry," the servant mutters to you under his breath, "he doesn't care who gets the wine to him, as long as he gets it." You are pondering this when the perpetually nervous little Minister Caldoni comes fluttering back into the room, carrying a pile of clothing.

"Ah, there's your outfit! Well, go and change, my little alien!" smarms the Emperor. You gag but leave the room, escorted by guards of course, through a velvet curtain that hangs down to the ground. There is no light in here but as you wave your hand around to get your bearings, it passes over a lamp which then turns itself on. Neat, you think. Well, you ARE in the future after all. With all the trappings of a monarchy around here, it's easy to forget that sometimes!

You put on the outfit, which thankfully isn't THAT bad. It consists of a flowing lavendar toga-like robe, slit up one side, with gold sandals, a snaky arm-bracelet, and a woven gold headband, with large gold earrings. They seem to go in for precious metals here in a big way, you reflect. Just as you are about to go back into the main room, a young man comes in and bumps into you.

"Oh, hello", he says apologetically. He is short-ish and has a medium-sized brown crest sharp features, and kind brown eyes, and is wearing a long brown coat with a brocade vest underneath. He leans over to you and whispers conspiriatorily, "My name is Vir Cotto, I'm Ambassador Mollari's personal attaché. He sent me to tell you that he DOES have a plan to get rid of Cartagia, but NOT to do anything, because you'll mess it up. Just bide your time and you should be free soon. I have to go now." He picks up a piece of paper that was sitting on a desk you didn't notice until now and walks out. "I found it!" you can hear him yelling back in the main room.

You sigh and walk back out, expecting to have to do a dance or something equally repulsive for that reptile of an Emperor. But you are in luck--the Emperor has drunk himself into a stupor and is now fast asleep! Which means you are temporarily free.

Hmmn. This has possibilities.

  1. Do you try to track down Vir or Londo and ask to help with their plan to kill Cartagia?
  2. Or do you sneak out of the throne room and look for a way to escape the palace?
