Astra discovered a gigantic pile of books. Sticking out one end was Fred's
boots. Astra pulled on them.

Fred, alive and well, came with.

Fred appeared, dead as anything.

Velus, who had somehow been jammed into the left one, appeared. He was confused but okay.

The boots were empty. Astra demolished the pile. No sign of Fred.

There was a gigantic, ancient mural of Astra on the wall, near the fiction section. She was wearing the clothes she had just put on ten minutes ago!

The boots were filled with poisonous spiders.

The boots were filled with ferrets who wanted to play and crawl onto Astra's shoulders. Seven in all.
